Latest State Investment in Crawford County Business Park Will Spur New Growth, Create Jobs
Former Brownfield Site Now Home to 28 Companies, 1,000-Plus Employees
"The Crawford Business Park is a great example of how state investments are transforming brownfields into job-creating engines that are revitalizing and generating tax revenues for communities across the state," Department of Community and Economic Development Deputy Secretary Dee Kaplan said yesterday.
Kaplan's remarks came as the state announced it would invest nearly $700,000 to spur additional growth and improvements at the park that will help to create more than 50 new jobs.
"Pennsylvania is working to clean up its old, vacant industrial sites, by investing its resources to prepare sites for development and upgrade the surrounding infrastructure that supports the needs of businesses," said Kaplan. "These investments are paying off in communities across the state by creating jobs for our hardworking men and women and tax revenues for our communities."
The Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County will use a $699,975 grant from DCED's Infrastructure Development Program to improve the Crawford Business Park's roads and entrances and construct a parking lot -- enhancing safety, convenience and traffic flow.
