SC: Adger Solar to Invest $200M in Clarendon County Solar Projects

Nov 28, 2016

Adger Solar, a clean-energy development company, intends to invest $200 million in two separate solar farm projects in Clarendon County. The company is projected to arrange $200 million of new investment and create at least five jobs in the process.

Active in the southeastern United States since early 2014, Adger Solar is a clean-energy development company focused on creating lower-cost, utility-scale solar-electric generating facilities, with developments underway in six different counties. Adger Solar is a joint venture with one of the nation’s oldest private energy investors, which has participated in the financing and development of more than 10,000 megawatts (MWs) of wind and solar projects now in operation around the country.

The first of these two 72MW solar farms is expected to be operational by the end of 2018, and together these projects will generate enough electricity to supply approximately 25,000 homes on an annual average basis, including customers of the two major local utility providers.
