NC: Red Classic to Expand in Charlotte, Add 300 More Jobs in 2017

Aug 29, 2016

Red Classic, a full-service transportation, logistics and fleet maintenance subsidiary of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, is expanding its current office space in The Patriot Building located at 1800 Continental Blvd., Suite 400.

The expansion comes just two years after moving into the building in south Charlotte and just five years since commercializing as a for-hire transportation business. In the past two years alone, the company has hired 462 employees, 150 of those in the immediate Charlotte area.

"We're fortunate to have the ability to have an immediate impact in the community,” said Ron Drogan, president of Red Classic. “Having the opportunity to see the way our business has grown since 2011 has been an incredibly rewarding experience.”

“Red Classic’s significant growth in a short period of time offers not only new jobs for the community but also a continued investment in community outreach,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber president and CEO.

"A priority for our organization is to take the time to instill stewardship programs at each of our locations,” Drogan continued. “Our people are the ones giving back to their local communities and we're proud be a part of that process.”

The company currently operates their assets and fleet maintenance services across 14 states, in addition to delivering nationwide logistics solutions.

The company plans to add almost 300 more employees to their Charlotte operations in 2017.
