ID: Wildwood Grilling Expands Operations in Bonner County, Adds 21 Jobs

May 31, 2017

Specialty wood product manufacturer, Wildwood Grilling, announced it is expanding its facility in Bonner County, creating 21 new jobs with project wages totaling over $3 million over the next seven years.

Wildwood Grilling began doing business in Idaho in 2007 and manufacturers assorted wood products for grilling including grilling planks, wraps, smoking chips, and skewers using Western Red Cedar and other woods. The expansion is estimated to infuse $2 million in capital expenditure in the rural area, and will support the prominent wood products sector in Idaho.

“We love doing business in Idaho and have been looking for a viable way to grow our company without having to leave the State to do it,” said Erin Brandt-Curmi, Marketing Director at Wildwood Grilling. “This next phase is going to allow us to deepen our roots in the community, and we’re thankful for the local partners that helped us make this expansion possible.”

Paul Kusche, executive director of Bonner County Economic Development Corporation, supported Wildwood Grilling through the Tax Reimbursement Incentive application process. Paul said, “We are pleased at the support received from the Department of Commerce and excited for the job growth that Wildwood Grilling is bringing to Bonner County, Idaho. Wildwood is a unique company with national retail grocery and food service distribution that is making use of the natural wood products of North Idaho, and as result supporting our forest products industry.”

Megan Ronk, director of Idaho Commerce, said, “The expansion of Wildwood Grilling is a win for Bonner County, a win for Idaho, and a big win for the timber industry that has been experiencing significant growth during the past several years. We are especially thrilled that the company will continue to invest in more jobs that will have an impact on Idaho families in this region of the state.”

The Idaho Economic Advisory Council approved Wildwood Grilling to receive a Tax Reimbursement Incentive (TRI) of 14 percent for seven years.
