OK: Advantage TerraFab to Invest $3.5M, Create 30 Jobs at New Site

Oct 18, 2017

Advantage TerraFab, LLC, a full-service steel fabrication and finishing operation, has announced plans to expand its business in Muskogee. The company has purchased a 55,000-square-foot-building at 400 South 45th Street East within the Muskogee Industrial Park.

The $3.5 million investment is expected to create 30 new jobs over the next three years.

Dan Morris, president/CEO of Advantage TerraFab, LLC said, “Buying this building just made sense to us.”

Founded in 2011, the company currently leases three buildings at the Port of Muskogee totaling approximately 50,000-square-feet, and employs approximately 45 team members.

Morris said the new facility is located next door to their parent company, Advantage Controls, and will allow them to bring both businesses together under one campus.

“We are nearing capacity at our existing facility. This move will give us more room to grow and will bring our team members closer together,” said Morris.

Morris says moving the business will not be an easy task as they have to maintain production throughout the transition. “The work doesn’t stop, so we’ll have to duplicate our current operation at the new building. Once the new building is ready, we can shift the work there and begin the process of moving the existing equipment over.”

They expect to be fully operational in the new building by June 2018.

“The new equipment we’ll purchase will allow us to increase our production capacity and provide opportunity to take on more business,” said Morris.

“We are pleased Advantage TerraFab has chosen to expand and deepen their roots in Muskogee”, said Muskogee Mayor Bob Coburn. “Their decision to grow here is a testament to our region’s skilled workforce and business-friendly environment.”

On Tuesday, the Muskogee City-County Port Authority Board of Directors approved the company for up to $110,000 in local incentives through its Strategic Investment Program (SIP).

The SIP is funded by a grant from the City of Muskogee Foundation, and allows the Port Authority to consider incentive awards to companies with qualifying job creation and/or qualifying investment in new or expanded facilities.

Advantage TerraFab is the eighth business to be approved for incentives under the performance-based program. To date, three companies have received incentive payments in return for more than $175 million in new investment made in Muskogee.

“We celebrate Advantage TerraFab’s decision to reinvest in Muskogee,” said Synar. “More and more companies are realizing that Muskogee is a great place to be because they see companies like Advantage TerraFab find success and grow here.”

The company is hiring for new positions. Anyone interested in job opportunities with the company should visit the Advantage Controls careers page at www.advantagecontrols.com/employment_opportunities.php
