Rick Scott is the 45th Governor of the economic super-state of Florida and is focused on making Florida the No. 1 job creation state in the nation. The state’s opportunity economy continues to grow under Governor Scott’s leadership: more than $7.5 billion in state debt has been paid down; businesses have created 896,900 private-sector jobs since December 2010; the state’s unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent in June – the lowest rate since March 2008; and the annual private-sector job growth rate – up to 3.9 percent – has exceeded that of the nation since April 2012.
