Trader Joe’s is looking to add a store in Daytona Beach, marking the chain’s entrance into Volusia County. A spokesperson told local News 6 that the company does not yet have a location or timeline.

There are currently 24 Trader Joe’s in Florida. A new store in Daytona Beach will be the third Trader Joe's in Central Florida; the other two are in Orlando.

According to recently issued permits, the new Trader Joe’s will occupy nearly 40,000 square feet at Tomoka Town Center in Daytona Beach, with a $4.5 million construction permit.

Trader Joe’s opened its first shop in California in 1967, it is known for being a ‘national chain of neighborhood grocery stores,’ per its website.
