**Clay Walker** has been in economic development for 15 years, serving as the executive director of the Gallatin Economic Development Agency since 2005. During that time, the EDA has developed a highly regarded existing industry program. The GEAR – Gallatin Expansion and Retention – program has been the catalyst for three retention and five expansion projects, with one of those leading to the recruitment of a new company, proving how an existing industry program can aid in business attraction.
