Woods** joined AMT as its president in April 2009. A lifelong manufacturing professional, Mr. Woods leads the Association’s drive to improve sales and market access for its members, while also providing services that lower their costs. He is dedicated to sharing his passion about the world’s most innovative manufacturing technology and creating a leadership position for AMT on issues that impact the industry. Prior to joining AMT, Mr. Woods held a number of executive positions at several machine tool companies, including President and CEO of Liberty Precision Industries, and President of Parlec Incorporated. He also held key management positions at Alliance Tool Corporation and its parent company, Cross & Trecker. Mr. Woods was AMT’s chairman of the Board of Directors in 2005-2006 and served on its Board of Directors from 2000-2008. He was also active in the National Tooling & Machining Association and in 1994 was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for Manufacturing Turnarounds for the Upstate New York area. Mt. Woods currently sits on boards for the Reshoring Initiative; the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM); the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations; and the National Council for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM). He is President of the MTConnect Institute. AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology (founded in 1902 as the National Machine Tool Builders' Association) supports and promotes the U.S. manufacturing technology industry. The association provides U.S. builders of manufacturing systems with the latest information on technical developments, trade and marketing opportunities, and economic issues. It also gathers and disseminates information about world markets, promotes its members' products in those markets, and acts as a representative on manufacturing technology matters to governments and trade organizations throughout the world.
