Golden Living recently announced the company is creating 200 new jobs at its Fort Smith Administrative Center, bringing total employment in Fort Smith to approximately 875 people. In addition, the company will make a multi-million dollar investment in building renovations and expansion to accommodate the new positions.

"We appreciate the generous support we have received from the State of Arkansas and the City of Fort Smith," said Neil Kurtz, M.D., president and CEO of Golden Living. "We look forward to remaining an active and growing member of the Arkansas business community for years to come. The state has a very supportive economic climate and is a great place to do business."

The creation of the new jobs in Fort Smith is part of a company-wide reorganization and centralization that was announced in early March.

"Golden Living recognizes Arkansas's strong workforce, and I appreciate the company's decision to create more jobs in Sebastian County," Governor Mike Beebe said. "I hope their continued growth in Fort Smith will mean continued success in the years to come."

Fort Smith officials say the announcement is good news for the local economy. "We give special thanks to Golden Living for today's announcement," said Paul Harvel, president and CEO of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce. "This exciting expansion will have a positive impact on Fort Smith's economy and our future."

The company plans to begin hiring shortly and continue filling jobs over the next 24 months as the new positions become available.
