Allied Payment Network Inc., a startup software developer for the financial industry, announced recently that it will grow its operations here, creating up to 29 new jobs by 2014.

The company, which develops, markets and administers online payment systems for banks, will invest $1.5 million to improve infrastructure and technology at its Fort Wayne operations.

"The software industry is an important part of Indiana's economy and a growing focus of our development efforts," said Governor Mitch Daniels. "Our ability to attract these high-paying jobs is good news for Indiana and a sign that we have created one of the nation's best business environments."

Allied currently employs seven associates at its Fort Wayne headquarters and will continue expanding its workforce this year. The average salary for the new jobs will be in excess of $60,000 annually.

"We're excited about developing this new system and look forward to partnering with banks and credit unions across the country," said Ralph E. Marcuccilli, president of Allied Payment Network. "We are confident that the significant rate of growth in this market will create the kind of success to justify significant expansion. In addition, we are proud to strengthen our commitment to Northeast Indiana."

The company began in August 2010 and has been expanding rapidly since that time. Allied Payment Network is marketing its software products to customers throughout the United States.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Allied Payment Network Inc. up to $200,000 in performance-based tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. Fort Wayne will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

"We are proud to announce Allied Payment Network's increased commitment to Fort Wayne," said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. "Their investment in our community is one that will increase both jobs and revenue in our city. It is companies like Allied that make our city a success."

Allied Payment Network joins the growing number of software companies that have chosen to expand in Indiana. Earlier this month, internet marketing firm, Slingshot SEO announced plans to create 114 jobs through an expansion of its operations in Indianapolis.
