David J. Burton is founder/ CEO of the National Minority Manufacturing Institute (NMMI) and the International Manufacturing and Supply Chain Association (IMSCA). His white paper, “The Strategic Intervention of Minority Small Manufacturing Enterprises in the Manufacturing Supply Chain,” while consulting with the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership and U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) was the basis of NMMI’s formation. Burton has written numerous articles on supply chain related areas and has vast experience in innovative small business programs. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and MS from Morgan State University.
