Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty along with Huf North America representatives announced the company will expand its Greeneville, Tenn. facility, located at 395 T. Elmer Cox Drive. The expansion represents an investment of $20 million and the creation of 100 manufacturing jobs.
The company will add a 52,000 square foot addition to its current structure for a plastic injection molding and paint facility. The expansion is expected to be complete in 2013, with customer deliveries beginning in 2014.
“Our Jobs4TN Plan made expanding existing businesses in Tennessee one of our priorities, and it identified the automotive industry as one of six key clusters in which Tennessee has a distinct competitive advantage we could leverage for job growth,” Haslam said. “Huf North America has been a part of Tennessee’s business community for nearly two decades, and I want to congratulate the company on its ongoing success.”

“Huf North America is excited to announce the business and process expansion at our Greeneville, Tenn. location to include plastic injection molding and paint, which will create 100 new jobs,” Michael Supe, president and CEO, Huf North America, said. “Our Tennessee location was established in 1995 and is considered a central logistic location for the Huf Group, supplying German and U.S. original equipment manufacturers. The expansion completion date is planned for the end of 2013, starting customer deliveries at the beginning of 2014. The annual planned volume is 2.5 million vehicles.”
Huf North America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst GmbH & Co. KG and headquartered in Velbert, Germany. The company is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of mechanical and electronic key systems, lock sets, steering locks and remote control systems for the automotive industry. The Huf Group employs more than 4,800 individuals worldwide, with operations in 16 countries.
The Huf North America Greeneville facility was established in 1995 and is a German and U.S. original equipment manufacturer for Volkswagen, BMW, Ford, Chrysler and GM. Along with the company’s Greeneville location, Huf North America has a sales office in Farmington Hills, Mich. and corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis.
