Nov 20, 2012

Advanced Inventory Solutions Inc., a provider of inventory auditing services, announced that has located new operations in Dorchester County. The $250,000 investment is expected to generate 35 new jobs.

“Our new location in Dorchester County provides an excellent opportunity for our company. We look forward to building our business there and adding new customers in the area. South Carolina provides us with an excellent business environment, a skilled workforce, and we appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials,” said Tim Bayer, president of Advanced Inventory Solutions.

Advanced Inventory Solutions has located new operations in an existing building in Summerville. The company will provide physical inventory auditing services to retail customers, such as grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies and specialty retail stores, among others.

“We work hard every day to show companies the benefits of doing business in South Carolina, and so it’s exciting to see announcements like this one. We celebrate Advanced Inventory Solutions’ decision to invest and create 35 new jobs in Summerville,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.

The new operation represents Advanced Inventory Solutions’ first location in South Carolina. The company also provides a range of additional services to customers, including competitive pricing tracking and assessment, product buy-back coordination, defective write-ups, out-of-stock reporting and pricing assistance.

“More and more businesses are seeing a world of opportunity that South Carolina provides. Investments like this one from Advanced Inventory Solutions bring new jobs to our communities and help make them sustainable. Every one of these jobs will have an impact in Summerville,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

“We are delighted and very proud Advanced Inventory Solutions has chosen Dorchester County for their location,” said Chairman Larry Hargett of Dorchester County Council. “Their decision is a testament to the quality of our community and the determination of the team that worked to make this investment possible. When a company invests in this area and creates jobs, it’s not only a win for Dorchester County, but a win for the entire region.”

“I am pleased to welcome Advanced Inventory Solutions, Inc.’s regional support office to Summerville. Our area’s blend of businesses was a driving force in bringing this project to fruition. AIS’s inventory auditing solutions should be beneficial to grocery, convenience stores, other retailers and pharmacies. We look forward to a long and profitable stay for AIS in Summerville,” said Mayor Bill Collins.

“Advanced Inventory Solutions will be an asset to the Charleston region,” said Wayne Hall, Charleston Regional Development Alliance Board chairman. “Our business friendly climate, Piggly Wiggly’s significant presence and our ready supply of highly skilled workers are critical factors in AIS’s decision to locate here, and we’re glad they have.”

“Piggly Wiggly was searching for an inventory solutions provider. We needed a company that would provide us with the most accurate physical inventory count, give us a higher level of technology and truly partner with us in those efforts. We feel we found that with AIS. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with them,” said Lynn Willard, vice president of asset management for Piggly Wiggly.
