Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities are rapidly becoming obsolete. What’s driving the old factories into dinosaur status? In the past, when a facility transitioned from production of one drug to another, its systems were adjusted, but facilities themselves were typically adaptable. However in today’s world where many new production requirements are for biologic medicines, re-equipping facilities originally built for traditional chemical production is anything but minor.
