AL: Mims Management Group to Create 50 Jobs with Montgomery HQ Project

Mims Management Group, a pharmacy service company, marked the official opening of its new headquarters in Montgomery, a project that involves a capital investment of $1.7 million and the creation of at least 50 jobs.

Mims Management Group, founded by Montgomery native Daniel Mims, is the parent company of Institutional Pharmacy Solutions (IPS) and Northeast Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NEP). IPS operates 40 pharmacies nationwide and three custom compounding pharmacies in Virginia, Texas and California that offer patients personalized treatments. NEP provides for the pharmaceutical needs of long-term care facilities including assisted living facilities, mental health organizations and intense therapeutic care facilities.

“Montgomery is our home. We could have chosen to place our headquarters anywhere in the US – in fact, Dallas made the most sense for a national headquarters, but we chose Montgomery because we want to be a part of the revitalization of this community,” said Mims, who serves as president of Mims Management Group, IPS and NEP. “We are excited about the opportunities that will be created here: bringing new jobs and employees to Montgomery and the future growth of all our companies. We are proud to establish our corporate headquarters here and to make an investment in and commitment to the future of Montgomery.”

IPS was founded in 2003 and serves both health care facilities and individuals. Its compounding pharmacies are licensed to provide custom-prepared medications to patients in almost all 50 states. In 2005 Mims acquired NEP and redirected its efforts to serve long-term care facilities whose pharmacy needs were not being met. NEP has grown across the Southeast with locations in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

The new headquarters of Mims Management Group is located at 3480 Eastern Boulevard in an existing 30,000-square-foot facility the company has renovated.
