Economic Development Execs to Convene in New Orleans, Talk Economic Growth

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will hold its annual Leadership Summit, Jan. 24-26 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, LA. Themed Pathways to Diverse Economies and Innovative Ecosystems, the event will address the latest obstacles in the economic development field, as well as how visionary leadership can strengthen organizational performance. Senior-level economic developers will gather from all corners of the international community to see what can be achieved under visionary leadership.

More than 400 attendees will travel to New Orleans from 40 states, Washington, D.C., five Canadian provinces and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Leaders from regional, state, county, and city economic development organizations are expected to attend, as well as senior-level representatives from chambers of commerce, educational institutions, consulting practices, redevelopment authorities and the federal government. 2016 marks IEDC’s 90th anniversary, which will be a yearlong celebration of economic developers and the work they do in their communities.
