MO: Daily’s Premium Meats to Invest $41.5M to Build Facility, Hire 212

Apr 02, 2015

Daily’s Premium Meats will build a new meat processing facility in St. Joseph, creating 212 new jobs, the Missouri Department of Economic Development announced. The company’s expansion project includes an initial capital investment of $41.5 million.

“A strategic central location and experienced workforce continue to accelerate growth in Missouri’s consumer food products sector,” Gov. Jay Nixon said. “I am very pleased to welcome Daily’s Premium Meats to St. Joseph, where its investment and new jobs will continue to advance economic development in this key industry.”

Daily’s Premium Meats will construct a 100,000 square-foot facility. Construction is slated to begin this summer and the company expects the St. Joseph facility to be fully operational by May 2016. Daily’s currently operates additional plants in Missoula, Mont., and Salt Lake City. Expanding to St. Joseph will put the company in closer proximity to its suppliers and strengthen its position to expand its customer base.

Founded in 1893 in Missoula, Mont., as a retail meat market, Daily’s Premium Meats has since grown into a leading supplier of processed pork items and specializing in sliced-to-order naturally smoked bacon. Using only fresh-trimmed pork bellies, the company serves a wide variety of high quality items including honey cured bacon, apple wood smoked bacon, naturally smoked hams and breakfast sausages. Daily’s Premium Meats is jointly owned by Triumph Foods and Seaboard Foods.

To assist Daily’s Premium Meats with its expansion to St. Joseph, the Missouri Department of Economic Development has offered a strategic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
