Continuing to advance his JOBS1st PA initiative, Governor Tom Corbett announced the Kellogg Company will invest $15 million to expand and add a robotic packing line to serve its club store customers. The investment will result in the retention of 323 manufacturing jobs in Lycoming County.
“We are partnering with companies like Kellogg to grow Pennsylvania’s manufacturing sector and support family-sustaining jobs,” Gov. Corbett said.
Kellogg will expand operations at its site in Muncy, Lycoming County, through the addition of robotic packing line to serve club store customers. The company plans to invest $15 million into the expansion and has committed to retaining 323 jobs.
The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development including $140,000 in Guaranteed Free Training which will be used for skills training for employees to learn how to operate the new robotic production line. Kellogg has accepted the funding proposal, but must still apply for the grant and agree to the terms prior to award receipt.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the Governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce also collaborated on this project.

Their work and the solid management personnel in place at the facility have provided the foundation for this growth thereby enabling area residents to obtain new employment at Kellogg’s.”
