TN: Armada Nutrition to Expand, Add 310 Jobs in Maury County
25 Oct, 2016
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with Armada Nutrition officials announced the company will expand its Spring Hill operations. The food packaging company will invest $2.1 million and create 310 new jobs over the next five years in Maury County, Tennessee.
“Tennessee has the workforce and business climate that makes companies not only want to locate new operations here, but existing companies want to expand and excel here,” Haslam said. “We appreciate Armada Nutrition for choosing to increase its operations in our state and for creating more than 300 jobs in Maury County. Armada Nutrition’s decision to expand in Spring Hill brings us one step closer to our goal of making Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”
“There are over 37,000 Tennesseans employed in the food and agribusiness sector and we appreciate Armada Nutrition for creating these valuable jobs for our workforce,” Boyd said. “On behalf of Team Tennessee, we thank Armada Nutrition for choosing to expand in Spring Hill and for its continued commitment to Maury County and Tennessee.”
Armada will be taking over an existing 300,000 square-foot facility, previously owned by Capstone Nutrition, located at 4637 Port Royal Road in Spring Hill. The new facility will be primarily used for contract blending and packaging of sports nutrition products. The company will be adding new machinery and data equipment to the facility over the next five years, and with this expansion, Armada will also create 310 new jobs as well as retain 111 jobs from Capstone Nutrition.
“We feel fortunate to be in a position to have acquired this fantastic facility,” Armada General Manager Brent Laffey said. “We are extremely excited to welcome the employees and value the experience and industry expertise they will bring. We are looking forward to continuing to grow the business and expand our team by employing from within the Spring Hill community.”
Founded in 2015, Armada Nutrition is a contract manufacturer for high quality nutritional powders dedicated to providing customers with innovative formulations and turnkey products.
Local leaders and partners expressed gratitude to Armada Nutrition for choosing to expand in Spring Hill.
“The diversity of industries making investments in Maury County continues to grow and provide new opportunities for generations of our citizens to both live and work within our community,” Maury County Mayor Charlie Norman said. “I would like to thank Armada Nutrition for the more than 300 opportunities they are creating and thank them for expanding in Maury County.”
“This is another very important announcement for Spring Hill as Armada Nutrition will retain the 111 existing Capstone Nutrition jobs, and add an additional 310 positions,” Spring Hill Mayor Rick Graham said. “Jobs like this are significant because nutraceuticals is a diversified industry, and these jobs will help residents work where they live, which aids our local economy and helps reduce commuter traffic on our local roadways."
“We would like to thank Armada Nutrition for expanding in Maury County, as their decision to create over 300 new jobs is a further vote of confidence for our entire community and its workforce,” Maury County Chamber and Economic Alliance President Wil Evans said. “This project also provides the employees previously working for Capstone Nutrition an opportunity to retain their positions and for this, we express our deepest gratitude to Armada. We would also like to thank our state, regional and local economic development partners for their efforts in this exciting project.”
