TX: MG Foods to Locate in Longview, Create 120 Jobs

May 06, 2015

The Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) is proud to announce MG Foods, a company that cooks, preps and packages frozen & fresh food products such as sandwiches, wraps and salads, will acquire the former Coors facility in Longview, Texas.

The $2.55 million expansion by the North Carolina-based company will create 120 jobs in Longview. The LEDCO Board of Directors voted to provide a $450,000 performance grant to MG Foods for their minimum capital investment of $2.55 million in building purchase, expansion, remodel, equipment and the creation of 120 new full-time jobs.

“This is a great win for Longview and MG Foods,” stated LEDCO Board President Joe Bob Joyce. “Our central location will be a tremendous asset for the company's fresh and frozen products distribution.” The company states that locating a facility in Longview will allow them to meet an increased demand in the “fresh products” division. The Longview location will allow them to sell “fresh” products across the central U.S. and will also allow them to deliver “frozen” products across the entire United States better serving the West Coast.

LEDCO Executive Director Susan Gill said, “We are thrilled to welcome MG Foods to Longview and look forward to working with them as they locate, prosper and grow for years to come.”

This is the third new company announced by LEDCO in the last six months. Tractor Supply Company is locating a multi-state distribution center in the Longview Business Park and Indevco Plastics, an international plastics manufacturing company, is locating a facility in the West Industrial District. Tractor Supply purchased the LEDCO spec building and is currently expanding and finishing-out the facility to meet their needs. Indevco acquired an existing building and property on Jordan Valley Road and is remodeling the building and installing flexible packaging manufacturing equipment.
