As global trade volumes rise, inland ports are becoming a critical component in the global supply chain, says a recent report by Jones Lang LaSalle. Inland ports, or intermodal distribution centers, connected directly to major seaports, are helping retailers and manufacturers with cost-effective import distribution to consumers.
