PA: CLI Transport to Construct Office, Maintenance Buildings, Create Jobs

Governor Tom Corbett announced that CLI Transport, LP will move forward with its plan to construct new office and maintenance buildings in Blair County, which is projected to support the creation of 16 jobs and the retention of 75 positions.

"We are creating an economic environment that encourages companies like CLI Transport to reinvest in growth and new jobs for Pennsylvanians," Corbett said. "Our support of this construction helped move this project forward and because it's a loan, it will be paid back to the commonwealth to support job creation projects in the future."

CLI Transport, LP, a fuel distributor and the dedicated petroleum carrier for Sheetz Convenience Stores, will construct a 3,000-square-foot office building and a 12,000-square-foot maintenance building in Allegheny Township. The company will invest more than $4.5 million in the project that is expected to create 16 new jobs and retain 75 existing employees.

"Keeping a commitment to maintain fiscal stability and enact pro-growth policies has sent a strong message that Pennsylvania is serious about job creation," Corbett said. "As a result, more than 125,000 private sector jobs have been created and our labor force has grown by 100,000 to more than 6.5 million."

The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) will provide a $2,250,000, 15-year low-interest loan at 1.5 percent to the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation on behalf of CLI Transport, LP.

PIDA provides capital for building acquisition, construction and renovation work, primarily for manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms, agricultural processors and employers looking to establish national or regional headquarters in Pennsylvania.

In 2013, PIDA has approved $35.3 million in low-interest loans that have resulted in $60.5 million in private investment and supported 8,822 jobs.
