The Children's Place to Move Warehouse to Fort Payne; Create 250 New Jobs

In cloudy economic times throughout DeKalbCounty, The Children’s Place announced a silver lining Wednesday.

In a press release late Wednesday afternoon, the company said it plans to move its e-commerce warehouse facility from Seacaucus, N.J. to its 700,000-square-feet distribution center in FortPayne. The move should mean another 250 jobs for the city, according to Jane Singer, the company’s vice-president for investor relations.

“This is a project that we have been working with Children’s Place on for some time. It’s a great company. Last year their sales were up, which is more than you can say about many retail stores. It’s a good company that’s doing well in hard times,” said DeKalb County Economic Development Authority Director Jimmy Durham.
