MO: Midwest Industrial Rubber to Invest $10M in Kansas City, Create 10 Jobs

Feb 06, 2018

Midwest Industrial Rubber (MIR), an independent specialty fabricator and distributor of conveyor belting and accessories, is expanding in Kansas City, Missouri with plans to create 10 new positions, ranging from fabrication technicians and customer service representatives to salesmen and senior executives. Over the next several years, MIR will continue investing in equipment and business infrastructure. In total, MIR expects to invest over $1 million in the Kansas City location.

“This is an extremely exciting time for the entire MIR organization,” MIR President Mark Hambacker, said. “As we continue to hire and expand, we are positioned to provide world-class service to our customers locally and nationwide.”

Founded in January 1980, MIR provides value-added products and services through their more than 20 full-service sales and fabrication facilities and satellite locations across the United States. MIR currently provides products and services to manufacturing facilities nationwide.

“This project’s announcement represents new jobs and higher pay for Missouri families,” Director of Economic Development Rob Dixon said. “We’re working hard to make sure companies want to invest in Missouri, because every company, every dollar of investment and every job helps our state.”

"Kansas City is proud to be part of Midwest Industrial Rubber’s (MIR) expansion in the Midwest and West Coast,” said Kansas City Mayor Sly James. “MIR shows us that not only is Kansas City a great place to grow a successful business, it’s a place where talented, skilled people want to work, raise their families, and be a part of our city’s incredible energy and momentum."

In July of 2017, MIR announced the move of its Kansas City operations from North Kansas City, to Dean’s Downtown business park in the heart of Kansas City. The move increases the company’s operating space from 14,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet and this increase in space will improve the company’s ability to support its continued growth by providing room for more production and fabrication equipment as well as customer service representatives.
