MS: Precision Spine™ to Expand, Add Jobs at Pearl Mfg Facility

While many U.S.-headquartered medical device manufacturers are moving their manufacturing operations to China and other overseas locations, Precision Spine, Inc. has reaffirmed its commitment to Made-in-the-USA manufacturing with the addition of a third building to its Pearl, Mississippi, campus, expanding the total manufacturing facility footprint by 30% to just under 30,000 square feet of space and creating 25 new jobs. As part of the expansion, the company created space dedicated to the production of custom products, prototypes and instrumentation. Future plans call for incorporation of advanced technologies into the facility, including 3D printing, clean room packaging and sterilization, automated assembly processes, barcode scanning, and automated distribution.

This manufacturing expansion will enable us to continue vertically integrating in-house production, warehousing and delivery right here in the United States so that we can bring new products and line extensions to the market faster and more cost-effectively. In fact, we are positioned to launch five major products, as well as three important line extensions.”

A key to the company’s continued commitment to Made-in-the-USA manufacturing is the near-future creation of an area dedicated to the production of sterile-packaged product. Precision Spine’s recently introduced Reform^® HA Coated Pedicle Screw System is currently sterile-packaged at another U.S. plant. But later this year, the company will be launching other sterile-packaged products from its own facility, including our ShurFit^® Coated ACIF (Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusion) Cage and our ShurFit^® Coated T-PLIF (Transforaminal Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) Cage.”
