OH: Eleven Companies to Invest $152M, Create Over 700 Jobs

Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 11 projects set to create 733 jobs and retain 310 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $35 million in new payroll, and spur more than $152 million in investment across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

Ridge Corporation (Location TBD) expects to create 40 full-time positions generating $1 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project at a to be determined location. Ridge Corporation produces lining systems for the trailer and truck body industry. The TCA approved a 35 percent, six -year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SK Food Group dba SK Food Group NAHQ (Location TBD) expects to create 253 full-time positions, generating $7.7 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project at a to be determined location. SK Food Group produces food products for a variety of market segments. The TCA approved a 55 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

Famous Enterprises, Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $1 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). Famous Enterprises is a wholesaler of HV AC, plumbing, industrial and building products for the residential, commercial and institutional markets. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Greenville Technology, Inc. dba Moriroku Technology North America, City of Marysville (Union Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $2.8 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $1.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Marysville (Union Co.). Greenville Technology is a supplier of automotive parts with advanced capabilities from product design to prototype to mass production. The TCA approved a 50 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Harris, Mackessy & Brennan, Inc., City of Westerville (Delaware Co.) expects to create 75 full-time positions, generating $5.6 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $11.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Westerville (Delaware Co.). Harris, Mackessy & Brennan specializes in IT and technology consulting, product development and system maintenance. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

Matalco Inc., Village of Lordstown (Trumbull Co.) expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $4 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the Village of Lordstown (Trumbull Co.). Matalco is an aluminum manufacturer for the aluminum extrusion manufacturing industry. The TCA approved a 50 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Mesnac Americas Co., Ltd., City of Akron (Summit Co.) expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $3.9 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Akron (Summit Co.). Mesnac produces equipment for the rubber and tire industry. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Pennex Aluminum Company, LLC, Village of Leetonia (Columbiana Co.) expects to create 65 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million and retaining $3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Village of Leetonia (Columbiana Co.). Pennex Aluminum is an aluminum part manufacturer that specializes in recycling industrial aluminum to create finished products. The TCA approved a 45 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

AIM MRO HOLDINGS, INC., Miami Twp. (Clermont Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $1 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $2.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Miami Twp. (Clermont Co.). AIM MRO is a full-service material management company. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

AlvaEDU, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $3 million in additional annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). AlvaEDU partners with major accredited universities internationally to build courses and materials that are mobile-friendly. The TCA approved a 45 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Tom and Chee Worldwide LLC, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 65 full-time positions, generating $3.5 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $215,385 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). Tom and Chee is a franchise restaurant known for their grilled cheese sandwiches. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
