OH: Seventeen Co.’s to Invest $173M, Impacting 4,300+ Jobs

Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 17 projects set to create 1,758 jobs and retain 2,551 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in $67.1 million in new payroll, and spur nearly $173.5 million in investment across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL

BrewDog USA Inc., City of Canal Winchester (Franklin Co.) expects to create 125 full-time positions, generating $5.3 million in annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Canal Winchester (Franklin Co.). BrewDog USA is a Scottish craft beer brewery with more than 25 locations worldwide. The TCA approved a 60 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

PCCW Teleservices (US), Inc., City of Dublin (Franklin Co.) expects to create 160 full-time positions, generating $4 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $8.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Dublin (Franklin Co.). PCCW provides voice and non-voice customer service, technical support, sales and customer retention. The TCA approved a 50 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Schoola Inc., LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 225 full-time positions, generating $6.1 million in annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). Schoola is an e-commerce company that works with schools and corporations to collect gently used children's clothing. The company sells the clothing from its website and returns 40 percent of sales back to the school. The TCA approved a 50 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Valeo North America, Inc., Perry Township (Logan Co.) expects to create 85 full-time positions, generating $3.9 million in annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Perry Township (Logan Co.). Valeo develops and manufactures systems, modules and components to manage the thermal energy of the powertrain in automobiles. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

Cable Manufacturing & Assembly, Inc. (CMA), Village of Bolivar (Tuscarawas Co.) expects to create 51 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $2.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Village of Bolivar (Tuscarawas Co). CMA designs and manufactures mechanical cable and controls and conductive assemblies for transportation, recreational products, medical and industrial markets. The TCA approved a 40 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Mac Trailer Enterprises, Inc., City of Alliance (Stark Co.) expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $7.5 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $26 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Alliance (Stark Co.). Mac Trailer manufactures steel and aluminum dump trailers, transfer trailers, flatbed trailers, drop deck trailers, pneumatic tank trailers and straight truck bodies. The TCA approved a 55 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NPA Coatings Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). NPA Coatings manufactures liquid automotive coatings, pre-treatment chemicals and paint protection films to industry customers and automotive manufacturers. The TCA approved a 45 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

ODW LTS, LLC (ODW Logistics), City of Hamilton (Butler Co.) expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $2 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $2.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Hamilton (Butler Co.). ODW Logistics provides third-party logistics utilizing ODW warehouse facilities. The TCA approved a 45 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Tripack LLC, City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $2.4 million in additional annual payroll and retaining $1.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Blue Ash (Hamilton Co.). Tripack provides design and manufacturing solutions to the shrink sleeve segment of the packaging industry. The TCA approved a 45 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
