PA: Procter and Gamble Expands to Franklin County, Creates 960 Jobs

Jul 19, 2013

Governor Tom Corbett issued the following statement in response to an announcement by Procter & Gamble Distributing, LLC regarding expansion plans in Franklin County.

Procter & Gamble announced that construction has begun on a new 1.7 million sq. ft. warehouse and distribution center in Southampton Township, Franklin County projected to be completed in the summer 2014. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to have four to six Procter & Gamble employees and at least 960 contractors.

“Today’s announcement is great news for Pennsylvania and Franklin County. Procter & Gamble’s decision to create a new facility in the commonwealth will result in one of the largest job announcements so far in 2013,” Corbett said. “A warehouse and distribution center of this size is projected to create more than 960 new jobs and various construction positions over the next few years.”

“Pennsylvania’s pro-business environment has continued to create new jobs opportunities for Pennsylvanians,” Corbett said. “This is the fourth jobs announcement in Franklin County this year; bringing anticipated job creation to over 1100 new positions.”
