SC: Palmetto State Armory to Expand in Lexington County, Create 300 Jobs

Apr 10, 2014

Palmetto State Armory (PSA), a South Carolina-based gun manufacturer, plans to expand its Lexington County presence and more than double its current workforce. The $4.2 million investment will allow the company to renovate and expand into a new building and create 300 new jobs over the next three years.

Due to increasing product demands and company growth, the gun maker's expansion will increase the manufacturing capacity at its operations at 2121 Old Dunbar Rd. in Lexington, S.C. The additional 168,000 square feet of space will be the hub of operations for the South Carolina-owned and operated PSA.

As a national leader in gun manufacturing, PSA considered possible locations for its manufacturing center around the Southeast, but the company ultimately decided to continue its partnership with South Carolina and expand in Lexington County

Currently, PSA employs 230 workers and expects to employ more than 500 workers by the completion of the expansion.

Interested applicants should email their resumes to PSA's HR Director Kim Miranda for future consideration at Kim.Miranda@palmettostatearmory.com.
