TN: Surecan to Invest $15.5M to Open Wilson County Mfg Facility, Hire 101

14 Aug, 2015

Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with SureCan Incorporated officials announced the company will establish a new manufacturing facility in Wilson County. SureCan, which manufacturers an innovative gas can, will invest $15.5 million to begin new operations in Lebanon, creating 101 new jobs.

“The majority of the U.S. population is easily accessible from Tennessee, making us a great choice for SureCan’s expansion,” Boyd said. “We’re also a state that values and nurtures our entrepreneurial ecosystem. I appreciate the new jobs SureCan is creating for our communities and look forward to their continued success in Tennessee.”

“SureCan Incorporated is excited to have our facility in Tennessee, we look forward to being a part of the community,” SureCan President Brad Ouderkirk said.

The company plans to manufacture and assemble fuel cans at the Lebanon location, 800 Maddox Simpson Parkway, allowing them to better serve market demand for their product in the Southeast and Northeast.

SureCan features patented spill-proof technology and a rotating nozzle and thumb-release trigger, allowing gravity to dispense fuel from the bottom of the can. It also self-ventilates, has a comfortable grip and a durable design. SureCan allows the user to direct how and where the gas will dispense, making it the easiest, safest and greenest fuel can in the world.

“On behalf of the City of Lebanon I want to welcome SureCan to our community,” Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead said. “It was a pleasure to work with both the owners and their senior management staff. We look forward to a long and successful partnership as the public becomes more aware of the economic and environmental pluses of their products.”

“Working with companies like SureCan provides one of the great benefits found in economic development,” G.C. Hixon, Executive Director of the Joint Economic and Community Development Board of Wilson County, said. “It was a pleasure to see the SureCan team pull together the business components which lead to the production of their consumer driven products. We welcome them to both Lebanon and Wilson County, Tennessee where other companies have also taken their vision and made it a reality.”

“Congratulations to SureCan on its decision to locate in Lebanon, Tennessee,” John Bradley, TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development, said. “TVA and Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation are privileged to partner with the state of Tennessee, Joint Economic and Community Development Board of Wilson County, City of Lebanon and Wilson County to assist new job creation by innovative companies like SureCan.”

People interested in applying for one of these new jobs can do so through www.staffmark.com or visiting SureCan’s Lebanon location at 800 Maddox Simpson Parkway. The company is now taking applications.

Lebanon and Wilson County are represented by Sen. Mae Beavers (R – Mt. Juliet), Rep. Mark Pody (R – Lebanon) and Rep. Susan Lynn (R – Mt. Juliet).
