TX: Let's Gel to Open New Mfg Facility in Waco, Create Jobs

18 Dec, 2014

Let's Gel, Inc., an Austin-based company, announces it has acquired a 64,000-square-foot manufacturing facility location along Precision Drive. Let's Gel, a developer of gel-filled floor comfort mats, has a mission to offer best-of-class ergonomic solutions that provide unmatched comfort and health benefits to improve everyday life both at home and in the workplace.

Prior to this facility, production services were provided by a third party manufacturer. The Waco facility marks the company's entrance into internal manufacturing, part of its strategy for vertical integration. H. Bland Cromwell served as the broker for the real estate transaction.

Founded in 2004, owner Robb McMahan, an engineer by trade, wanted to create an anti-fatigue flooring solution for his wife, Lisa, due to the pain she experienced from cooking Thanksgiving dinner one year.

"Waco was chosen for its central location, skilled workforce and a commitment from the area city business leaders in driving the local economy. We are very excited that Waco will be the exclusive manufacturer of our premium line of comfort mats," said Robb McMahan, founder and CEO of Let's Gel, Inc.

Let's Gel's capital investment of $3,500,000 includes building purchase and improvements, as well as investments in machinery and equipment. The company will create 35 jobs over a three year period.

"McLennan County is very pleased that Let's Gel will begin its internal manufacturing here in Waco," said McLennan County Judge Scott Felton. "It is a very exciting time for McLennan County and our economy."

"We welcome Let's Gel to Waco and are excited about the jobs that will be created over the next three years," said Waco City Manager Dale Fisseler. "More and more companies are relocating to this area in the heart of Texas and our focus on quality of life projects in our community will make sure that they will be glad they did."

Since production began, Let's Gel has sold more than 2 million mats to the residential, commercial and medical markets through direct sales at and through leading online, catalog and brick and mortar retailers, including Bed Bath and Beyond, JCPenney, Belk and more.
