TX: W.W. Grainger Cuts Ribbon at New 200-Job San Antonio Facility

Dec 07, 2016

Governor Greg Abbott attended and delivered remarks at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new W.W. Grainger sales facility in San Antonio, Texas.

This project, announced earlier this year, is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs, and also generate 310 indirect jobs at existing local and small businesses in the San Antonio area. The new facility represents a $3.9 million capital investment.

“Today is the latest example of the economic diversification Texas enjoys thanks to our low-tax, limited-regulation environment,” said Governor Abbott. “Texas leads the nation in small-business friendliness and many of our 2.4 million small business owners rely on companies like Grainger to maintain, operate and grow their business. I am proud that an industry leader like Grainger has chosen Texas to build its latest sales facility and look forward to their continued growth in the Lone Star State.”

Grainger is the nation’s leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) products, serving more than 2 million businesses and institutions across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing and hospitality.
