Casey's General Stores Plans to Add at Least 350 Locations Over the Next Three Years

Casey’s General Stores says it plans to add at least 350 locations nationwide over the next three years, through new store openings and acquisitions. The strategy will boost the Ankeny, Iowa-based company's total store count to at least 2,870 when completed.

Casey’s, which says it’s the third-largest U.S. convenience store chain, did not disclose the specific areas for its expansion, but did say in a recent investor presentation it “has ample opportunity to expand within its footprint” in the Midwest, reports CoStar News.

However, Casey’s also said it has an opportunity to expand into new areas, including Texas and Louisiana, that are within 500 miles of its distribution centers in Iowa; Terre Haute, Indiana; and Joplin, Missouri.

The company is also one of the biggest pizza restaurants. Most of its stores make pizza in-house. The company said during its investor presentation that growth in food sales is a key part of its expansion plan, CoStar News reports.
