Dick’s Sporting Goods announced the grand opening of seven new locations, bringing about 450 collective jobs to communities through the hiring of full-time, part-time and temporary employees for the stores.
The openings include the second Dick’s House of Sport in Knoxville, Tenn., on June 4, one relocated Dick’s Sporting Goods, two newly redesigned Golf Galaxy locations, and three Warehouse Sale locations. The company also announced additional experiential in-store Soccer Shops to another 47 stores in June.
Dick’s House of Sport store in Knoxville will feature a 24,000-square-foot outdoor turf field and running track, a rock-climbing wall, a batting cage with HitTrax technology, golf hitting bays with TrackMan simulators, a putting green, a “House of Cleats” that will seasonally rotate product, a health and wellness destination, and a consolidated service area for breaking in gloves, stringing lacrosse sticks and building/repairing bikes. The grand opening runs from June 4-6. Earlier this year, the company opened its first Dick’s House of Sport location in Victor, N.Y.
Redesigned Golf Galaxy stores will open in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in Houston. The updated stores will provide access to TrackMan and BioMech Golf technologies, hitting bays and custom fittings. The grand opening runs from June 5-6.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse Sale locations will open in Kennesaw, GA; Fenton, MO; and Knoxville, TN. The stores offer deep discounts on footwear and apparel with some merchandise at 70 percent off or more.
Following the store openings, Dick’s will have 731 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide in 47 states and 98 Golf Galaxy stores nationwide in 35 states.
