The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) has announced that a software company with a platform that makes it easy for web developers to create native applications for mobile devices, including iPads and iPhones, will move its headquarters and operations from out of state to Kansas City, Missouri.
RareWire (www.rarewire.com), which also provides the service of building apps for organizations like The Atlantic and Ebony magazines, CA Technologies, the United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, and TriVascular, among others, is projected to create 40 jobs over five years.
“Having a fast-growth high-tech company like RareWire make a significant capital investment in Kansas City while creating 40 new local jobs is excellent news for the metro area’s economy,” said Chris Pieper, Acting Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “Under the leadership of Governor Nixon, our administration is focused on creating jobs and moving our economy forward, and I am pleased that we were able to provide the economic tools to help make this project possible.”
The state of Missouri’s incentive package included tax credits from the Missouri Quality Jobs program.

The company will locate its headquarters at 1627 Main, in Kansas City’s Crossroads District.
