Governor Bob Riley said it’s always great to welcome new industries to Alabama, but it’s just as important to celebrate when companies that are already here are able to expand their operations and add new jobs.

That’s why he was in Scottsboro on Wednesday morning to celebrate the announcement that HTPG, which makes commercial refrigeration units, coolers, evaporators, condensing units and products for the heat transfer industry, is adding 120 jobs at its location in the Scottsboro Industrial Park over the next three years. The company currently employs 319 in Scottsboro.

In addition, the company is relocating its headquarters from Brea, California to Scottsboro.

“We’ve been very successful as a state at recruiting new industries. But we’ve also worked hard to help make the companies we’ve got here more successful. When they’re successful, they’re going to grow, and when they grow they create more jobs and opportunities for people,” said Governor Riley. “Government shouldn’t be an adversary to employers. Instead, we’ve forged partnerships that help Alabama compete for and win new jobs.”
