G-1 Mechanical Inc. Hires 60 Employees; Looking to Add 40 More

G-1 Mechanical Inc. said Friday that it has hired about 60 workers for its new McIntosh facility and is looking to add 40 more.

The minority-owned contractor, based in Moncks Corner, S.C., three weeks ago landed a multimillion-dollar deal with ThyssenKrupp to fabricate pipe for the $4.65 billion steel mill taking shape nearby in Calvert. That project is expected to last eight months to a year, but company officials said it G-1 would land additional work with other industries located along the U.S. 43 corridor.
