AZ: GYEDC Receives 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from IEDC

Aug 25, 2025
IEDC’s annual Excellence Awards honor economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that demonstrate consistent, exemplary performance in the profession.

The Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation received a 2025 Excellence in Economic Development Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The award was bestowed for the organization’s work in the Paid Advertising Campaign category that impacted over 200,000 residents. GYEDC CMO Lyndsay Wisneski will be honored at the IEDC 2025 Annual Conference in Detroit, Michigan, September 14-17 along with Board Members, Chairman Josh Finkbeiner and Salvador Machado.

"GYEDC is leading the field of excellence in economic development with its “Why Greater Yuma” video series. This award shines a spotlight on GYEDC’s commitment to its community and showcases the significant impact of economic development,” said Nathan Ohle, IEDC President and CEO. “IEDC is honored to present this award to Chief Marketing Officer, Lyndsay Wisneski of GYEDC to celebrate both their leadership and innovation in the field."

Each year, IEDC honors economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that consistently demonstrate excellence in the field. The honorees lead transformational projects that revitalize communities and advance the practice of economic development.

"We are honored to receive this award, which recognizes not only the power of storytelling through film but also the strategy that drives meaningful engagement. Partnering with local filmmaker Eric Castanos brought our vision to life in a way that authentically captures the spirit of the Greater Yuma region. While the video itself is compelling, it was the thoughtful strategy behind the campaign that truly made the impact and earned this recognition. This award is a testament to the strength of collaboration and the importance of purposeful marketing in economic development." Lyndsay Wisneski, Chief Marketing Officer, GYEDC.
