About Prescott City Economic Development

Prescott is a great place to do business in part because it is a desirable destination to live.  Located in the north central highlands or Arizona, our mile-high city enjoys four mild seasons.  Just 90 miles from the Phoenix metro area, our cool summers, over 450 miles of trails, five area lakes, and several golf courses make Prescott a favorite travel destination.  Our Western heritage draws visitors to our historic downtown to explore Whiskey Row, Courthouse Plaza and a variety of museums, art galleries, shops and restaurants.  Often, visitors fall in love with Prescott, and later plan to live here, or in some cases, expand or move their business enterprise here.

Prescott is also home to four institutes of higher learning.  Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott College, Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University.   Our public schools are award-winning, and we have a variety of private and charter schools to choose from.  Prescott is the Yavapai County seat, and home to a regional Veterans Administration Hospital, Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center, and thousands of businesses.  Prescott Regional Airport, services general and commercial aviation with daily flights to Denver, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

We recently welcomed CP Technologies to our airport industrial area. This aerospace and technology defense contractor moved from southern California in early 2021.  We are actively recruiting high-tech satellite operations, and encouraging business startups.  Our Center for the Future business incubator adds to our entrepreneurial culture.
