Stater Bros. Markets recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a supermarket in Southern California’s Inland Empire region that will be located at the northwest corner of McCall Boulevard and Menifee Road in Menifee, Calif. Construction is slated to begin later this summer, with completion expected in summer 2027. The store will be Stater Bros.’ fourth in Menifee.
The Menifee store will be part of a new shopping center called McCall Square, which will also include a McDonald’s and more than 9,300 square feet of additional retail space for businesses and residents alike.
At the groundbreaking, Stater Bros. Markets Executive Chairman Pete Van Helden noted: “Today is particularly meaningful because it marks another milestone in our long history with this community and in our confidence in its future. Now, I know many people in this community have been waiting a long time for a grocery store at this location. I am happy to report that ‘coming soon’ has finally arrived.”
To mark the event, Stater Bros. Charities, the grocer’s nonprofit arm, donated $2,500 each to the following organizations:
Menifee Valley Community Cupboard
Menifee Santa’s Workshop
Sandals Church Menifee
MIL Vet
Menifee Police Foundation
Stater Bros. operates nearly 170 supermarkets in Southern California and employs 18,000 associates. The San Bernardino, Calif.-based company is No. 57 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer’s 2026 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America.
