Ross Stores has opened 30 new Ross Dress for Less and nine dd's Discounts stores in the month of October, across 17 states. The 39 newest locations bring to 66 the total number of new stores that Ross plans to open in fiscal 2020.
The discount retailer added a total of 12 stores to its largest markets of California, Texas and Florida, while also opening two stores in its newest Midwest state, Ohio, reports Chain Store Age. In addition, Ross entered the state of West Virginia, its 40th state, and dd's opened its first store in Arkansas, its 21st state.
"We remain committed to growing our Ross and dd's footprints across our existing markets as well as expansion into our newer markets,” said Gregg McGillis, group executive VP, property development.
Ross Stores, headquartered in Dublin, Calif., operates 1,594 locations in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam. The company also operates 275 dd's Discounts stores in 21 states.
