FL: Brunswick Boating Group Opens Tech Center, May Create 160 Jobs

Oct 10, 2019
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis joined Brunswick Boating Group to announce the opening of their new technology center in Edgewater. The Governor joined Congressman Michael Waltz and Brunswick Boating Group Technology Center Vice President Lenn Schulz for the grand opening ceremony.

“Today, we are here to celebrate a tremendous investment by one of the leading names in marine and boating innovation,” said Governor DeSantis. “Brunswick Boating Group’s opening of this new technology center means a great deal not only to the Edgewater community and Volusia County, but to the entire state. Our low taxes, top rated public university system and strong economic climate will continue to attract businesses to relocate to and expand in Florida.”

Brunswick Boating Group was formed in 2000 as a division of Brunswick Corporation to manage nearly 45 boat brands. The recreational boating industry in Florida generates an annual economic impact of more than $20 billion and supports more than 90,000 jobs. This new technology center builds on that impact and is projected to create more than 160 jobs and develop the future of marine technology.
