Extant Aerospace is building a roughly 376,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Melbourne that the company says will create about 200 jobs.
The new plant will house expanded electronics and avionics operations for the Melbourne-based firm, which already works with major defense prime contractors, according to the Orlando Business Journal.
Extant President Jon Page told local media the expansion strengthens the company’s ability to support military and commercial customers. He said the facility will bring “new jobs and new opportunities” to the community. On social media, the company described the project as a commitment to future growth.
Extant says it will ramp up hiring to staff the new campus but has not released an estimated completion date, according to the company’s LinkedIn announcement.
