Genesis Systems LLC, a Kansas City, Missouri-based tech company developing products to help fight global water scarcity, announced it will move its corporate headquarters to Tampa. The company says it will also launch its first line of products after its move to Tampa. It also plans to augment its staff from 20 to 125 over the next five years; it will seek to hire C-level executives, engineers, technicians and programmers, assembly workers, project managers and administration staff.
“Genesis vetted multiple cities across the country to answer which city would provide our unique mission to solve water scarcity with the best talent and the best lifestyle to support the talent we attract,” Genesis Systems CEO Shannon Stuckenberg states in the release. “Our people are heroes solving hard problems for all humanity. They deserve to live in a city that supports them. In the final analysis, there wasn’t even a close second. Tampa won hands down.”
According to the release, Genesis Systems’ WaterCube system uses atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology to inexpensively generate fresh water on an industrial scale while carbon capturing. The firm says the proprietary technology easily scales to produce tens of millions of gallons of fresh water per day while consuming far less energy per gallon than any current water purification system.
About the size of a shipping container, the WaterCube system can be deployed virtually anywhere and can harvest mass quantities of water directly from the air where it is most needed—even in Earth's most arid regions.
