IN: AI Consulting Services Firm Opens Indianapolis Office, to Create 38 Jobs

Oct 14, 2021
Atrium, a startup AI consulting services company, announced today the opening of its new Indianapolis office with plans to create up to 38 new jobs in central Indiana by the end of 2023.

"Corporate demand for artificial intelligence is driving growth for startups, and Hoosier companies are leveraging this technology at advanced levels," said Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers. "Indiana’s great universities, skilled workforce and excellent quality of life attract companies like Atrium to our state, which builds upon Indiana’s tech reputation."

Atrium leased more than 18,000 square feet of office space at 201 N Illinois St., Suite 1500. This facility serves as the first in-person hub for the company’s central Indiana team with room to grow its team, as well as expand its data-driven client services and client roster. With the new office, Atrium also plans to host Salesforce ecosystem events and events with technology partners such as Snowflake, Tableau and Slack.

“Atrium has had a vested interest in Indianapolis since the beginning,” said Atrium CEO Chris Heineken. “With so many of our employees calling the Indianapolis area home and an increasingly competitive talent pool to draw from, I’m proud to have reached this milestone. It’s outstanding to be able to provide a hub for the team, as well as cement our position as a top employment destination in Indianapolis.”

To support its growth, the company, which currently employs more than 175 associates across its operations in the U.S and India, is hiring roles in project management, analytics, data science, and Salesforce consulting, among others. Interested applicants should apply online.

Founded in 2018, Atrium combines industry expertise, cloud platforms and data science to advise, implement and optimize artificial intelligence and analytics solutions to help clients solve their most important challenges. Named one of Inc Magazine’s Best Workplaces in 2021, the company aims to create hundreds of jobs in data science, machine learning and AI consulting.

“Today’s announcement demonstrates the vitality of our local tech ecosystem,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. “We’re looking forward to Atrium’s continued success at this new location as it builds out its workforce with hundreds of local employees and showcases the strength of our regional talent pool. This opening only reinforces that Indianapolis is a fantastic city for families to live, work and play.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) partners with industry organizations like TechPoint, Indiana’s nonprofit tech growth accelerator, to target business recruitment in high-skilled, high-growth sectors. TechPoint works to cultivate business development needs within the tech sectors, helping recruit industry startups, scaleups and established organizations like Atrium to expand or locate in Indiana.

"Atrium's announcement is a great proof point of the appeal and growth in Indianapolis for tech consulting and tech services companies,” said TechPoint CEO Mike Langellier. “Many of the Atrium executives were part of the Appirio leadership team, which hired hundreds here and moved its headquarters from the Bay Area to Indianapolis in 2015. They experienced firsthand the talent supply, tech community and business climate and are now picking Indy for this next venture. We can't wait to see and support their success."

Based on the company’s job creation plans, the IEDC committed an investment in Atrium of up to $500,000 in the form of incentive-based tax credits. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired. The city of Indianapolis supports the project in partnership with Develop Indy.

Indiana is leading a Midwest tech transformation with more than 87,000 tech industry jobs contributing $16.2 billion to the state’s economy every year.
