INTACT Integrated Services, a provider of managed information technology services, announced recently that it has relocated its North American headquarters here and will create up to 100 new jobs by 2015.
The company, which provides a suite of project, support and managed services solutions to the information and communication technology industry - including network development, maintenance and support services for Cisco products - is investing in office space and equipment in Carmel to serve as the company's Americas division headquarters. INTACT was formerly housed in suburban Cincinnati.
"Indiana is fast establishing itself as a center of growth in the information technology industry," said Governor Mitch Daniels. "These are good jobs that provide attractive wages for our most talented young people."
INTACT plans to begin hiring network engineers and project consultants immediately as facility upgrades are completed. The company began operations in the Carmel office in November.
"Relocating to Carmel - one of Indiana's fastest developing cities - makes an excellent opportunity for INTACT, as it gives us a well-connected hub to support the projected expansion of our activities across the Americas. In Carmel we're close to key INTACT technology partners such as Cisco, and we're confident that Indiana will prove the right choice for INTACT as we continue to grow our activities and hire talented individuals," said Jeff Hamilton, managing director of INTACT's Americas division.
A subsidiary of South Africa-based Datatec Limited, INTACT entered the U.S. market when it acquired the Mason, Ohio-headquartered Millennium Technology Services in January, 2010. INTACT has offices in the UK, Germany, Singapore and the United States with a support network that stretches throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered INTACT Integrated Services up to $1.75 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $25,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. The city of Carmel will consider additional property tax abatement.
"We are pleased that INTACT has selected Carmel as its North American headquarters. The city has worked hard to create a community rich in cultural amenities, recreational opportunities and educational options that attracts these professional level high tech jobs," said Mayor Jim Brainard.
INTACT's announced expansion comes just more than three weeks after contract research firm Advion BioServices Inc. announced plans to invest more than $6.1 million to lease and equip 22,000 square feet of laboratory space at the Purdue Research Park at Ameriplex near the Indianapolis International Airport, adding up to 49 immediate jobs and 66 jobs by 2015.
