IA: IEDA Board OKs Projects from 2 Companies, Creating 141 Jobs

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Board recently approved awards for two companies, which will assist in the creation of 141 jobs and result in $27 million in new capital investment for the state. These projects are located in Shell Rock and Urbandale.
 
Unverferth Manufacturing Co. expands in Shell Rock
 
Unverferth Manufacturing Co., Inc. is a manufacturer of farm equipment, including grain, hay and seed handling; wheel systems; fertilizer; and tillage and spraying equipment. The company plans to expand in Shell Rock with an increase in production space by 43,500 square feet. The project represents a nearly $10 million capital investment and is expected to create 30 jobs at a qualifying wage of $20.20 per hour. The board awarded the company tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs (HQJ) program.
 
WorldWide Logistics constructs headquarters in Urbandale
 
WorldWide Integrated Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. dba WorldWide Logistics offers freight and logistics services across the continental United States with a growing international presence. The company plans to construct its headquarters in Urbandale, which will include 76,000 square feet of office space that will be able to accommodate 600 employees. The $17.1 million capital investment project was awarded tax benefits through the HQJ program. It is expected to create 111 jobs, of which 11 are incented at a qualifying wage of $27.57 per hour.
