BuildMyMove, the country’s first provider of instant, binding online moving quotes for full service interstate moves, today announced plans to relocate its U.S. headquarters from Akron, Pa., to Overland Park, Kan., creating up to 50 new jobs in the state by the end of 2011 and an estimated 100-plus jobs over a five-year period.
BuildMyMove will occupy 3,358 square feet at 95th and Metcalf on or around March 1, 2011. The space was formerly occupied by Centrinex. A cash infusion from Five Elms Capital and plans for significant business growth combined with tax credits from the Kansas Department of Commerce helped to facilitate the relocation.
According to Rich Cray, Chief Operating Officer at BuildMyMove, the company considered staying in Pennsylvania, but ultimately decided to relocate to the Midwest for a number of reasons.
