LA: Davis Timber Company Expands in Beauregard Parish, to Create 21 New Jobs

Apr 28, 2026
The expansion supports Louisiana’s agribusiness industry by increasing production of utility and infrastructure materials.

Davis Timber Company, Inc. announced it will invest $1.9 million to expand its Beauregard Parish operations with new production capabilities that will enhance efficiency and strengthen Louisiana’s timber industry.

The company is expected to create 12 direct new jobs while retaining 11 current positions. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will result in an additional nine indirect new jobs, for a total of 21 potential new job opportunities in the Southwest Region.

“Davis Timber Company’s continued investment reflects the strength of Louisiana’s timber industry and the businesses that have helped sustain it for generations,” LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois said. “When companies with deep roots in our state choose to grow here, it reinforces the value of our workforce, natural resources and the industries that support communities across Louisiana.”

Davis Timber Company’s expansion will take place at its production facility within the Beauregard Regional Airport Industrial Complex in DeRidder, where the company produces poles and pilings used in utility and infrastructure applications. The project will add new processing capabilities to the existing operation, improving efficiency and enhancing product readiness for market.

“With its prime location in the center of the SWLA timber belt and the availability of essential ancillary services, DeRidder provided the prime location for Davis Timber Company, Inc. to establish its pole and pilings business,” Davis Timber Company President & CEO Robert Davis said. “Improving economic climate, funding opportunities and industry deregulation in the State of Louisiana have allowed us to increase our production by building and adding a kiln-drying operation and set the stage for company growth and development.

Davis Timber Company, Inc. is a family-run business with decades of experience in Louisiana’s forestry industry, producing poles and pilings from local timber for utility and infrastructure applications. The company has grown from timber harvesting into manufacturing and now operates a production facility in DeRidder.

“In a small town like ours, moments like this mean everything,” Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Adams said. “We are incredibly proud of the Davis family and all they have accomplished. It is an honor for the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce to have played a role in connecting them with Louisiana Economic Development to support their business growth. This is what community is about — neighbors supporting neighbors and working together to create opportunities right here at home. We are grateful to be part of this story.”

Construction is underway, with project completion and operations expected by January 2027.

“Davis Timber Company’s expansion is exactly the kind of generational growth we are working to accelerate across Southwest Louisiana, and we appreciate the company’s investment. We also recognize the leadership and partnership of the State of Louisiana and Beauregard Parish, whose coordinated efforts were instrumental in making this project possible,” President and CEO of the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance Scott Walker said. “This investment reflects the priorities of the Accelerate SWLA plan, supporting the growth of existing companies, strengthening foundational industries like forestry, and advancing modern production capabilities. It’s a strong example of how regional collaboration, a skilled workforce and a competitive business climate are driving meaningful growth across our five-parish region of Southwest Louisiana.”

To secure the project in DeRidder the state of Louisiana offered Davis Timber Company, Inc. a competitive incentives package that includes a $200,000 performance-based grant for infrastructure improvements and equipment. The company is also expected to participate in the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption program.
